DVLA must be informed immediately of any changes to name or address, or both. Changes can be made to your driving licence online or by post. The service is free unless you want to update the photograph on the licence.

You can renew a licence online.
If you want to renew your photo, the licence will be also be renewed. Again, you can do this online.
Using the Post Office Licence services
You can use a post office that deals with vehicle licencing to get the appropriate forms. To find a post office that deals with licencing in your location visit the Post Office Branch finder. If you input your postcode and select the service you require on the drop down “Refine branch services” you will be directed to an appropriate post office in your area. Return your form to DVLA, Swansea, SA99 1DH.
Informing DVLA of Changes
Telling DVLA your details have changed will ensure your record is up to date and all future driving licence reminders are sent to your correct address.
Replacing a Lost or Stolen Licence
If any part of your licence has been lost or stolen then you’ll need to replace your driving licence, ensuring you notify DVLA of any changes if any apply.
Receiving your New Licence
Expect your new licence within a week if you apply online. If DVLA need to check any of the details of your application then it will take longer.
Driving without the Physical Licence
You may drive without a physical licence in your possession so long as you’re not disqualified from driving, or been refused a licence for medical reasons (and wouldn’t be refused a licence for medical reasons).
